OnePlus 2 tipped to match HTC One M9 for power

The OnePlus 2 will arrive sometime this year, but while we wait for the Chinese firm to confirm an official launch, details about the handset are steadily leaking out.

The latest information was spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench, claiming to reveal information on the upcoming OnePlus Two.

It's the processor detail which is the main talking point here, with an octa-core Qualcomm MSM8994 chip listed - which translates to the Snapdragon 810 SoC (System on Chip), plus a meaty 3GB of RAM.

That's the same processor you'll find in the HTC One M9 and LG G Flex 2, ensuring the OnePlus 2 will be packing some serious power if this turns out to be true.

Latest Lollipop

There's good news in the software department too, as the benchmark result also claims the OnePlus 2 will arrive with Android 5.1 Lollipop - ensuring the handset is bang up to date with Google.

That's your lot in terms of specs, and of course there's no guarantee this information is correct, although it does fall in line with a couple of other rumours we've heard.

Its predecessor, the OnePlus One, was a surprise hit last year with flagship specs and a mid-range price tag and the hope is the OnePlus Two can repeat the trick in 2015.
