Buying Guide: The best iPhone 6 Plus deals in April 2015

Best iPhone 6 Plus deals

The iPhone 6 Plus is magnificent, it's the device that many people wanted Apple to create, to give them a handset that's a little bit larger, with all the benefits that brings with it.

Now, those of us who adored the screen size of the Samsung Galaxy Note have the chance to own Apple's device in the same size.

There's also a real advantage to the iPhone 6 Plus that goes beyond just the larger screen. But make no mistake, the 1080 x 1920 screen makes a big difference when you're looking at it. Perhaps the most important advantage though, is that the camera sports an optical image stabilizer, which helps shoot amazing images in low light conditons.

The UK's best iPhone 6 Plus deal:

Free phone, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, 5GB of data, £46.99pm on EE.

It might sound like £46.99 per month isn't much of a deal, but what you're getting here is a fantastic data package, one of the most expensive phones on the market for no up-front fee and unlimited calls and data. If you can live with two years of that, then this deal will give you everything you need.

Now let's break down the best iPhone 6 Plus deals by network...

iPhone 6 deals on EE

Best iPhone 6 Plus deals on EE

EE is the network to go to if you want high-speed 4G

Deal 1: £9.99, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, 5GB of data, £48.49pm

Another fairly expensive deal, but here you get a massive 5GB of data along with unlimited everything else. That's enough to stream a lot of video on the go and with EE's superfast network you actually stand a chance of being able to do that too. Lifetime cost is high, but you'll walk away with the phone that will keep a decent value at the end of your contract. The £9.99 charge for the phone just seems mean too.

Deal 2: £100 phone, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, 4GB of data, £33.49pm

If you want to drop your monthly costs down significantly, then this is the deal for you. It does mean you have to pay £100 for your handset, but a generous 4GB of data and unlimited calls and texts make this deal a good one.

Deal 3: £389.99 phone, 500 minutes, unlimited texts, 500mb of data, £31.99pm

Not the cheapest deal overall, but the big advantage here is that you're getting a 64GB iPhone 6 Plus rather than a 16GB model. All of our other deals are for the entry-level handset. This makes the price much more bearable, but the frustration is that you have to pay a pretty large up-front cost.

iphone 6 deals on o2

Best iPhone 6 Plus deals on O2

O2 is the network with extras, including the popular O2 Priority service

Deal 1: Free phone, unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 5GB of data, £54pm

This is the best monthly price for a phone with no up-front charge on O2. as you can tell, it's a fairly big cost over two years. The data allowance is more than most normal users will need though, and of course unlimited calls and texts are included.

Deal 2: £469.99 phone, 100 minutes, unlimited texts, 100mb of data, £13.50pm

This deal stands out because it's the cheapest you can get on O2. The data is a stingy 100mb through, which won't be enough for all but the lightest users. If you're always near Wi-Fi this deal will work for you, and gives you the lowest total ownership price.

Deal 3: £100 phone, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, 1GB of data, £32.50pm

Excluding deals with less than 1GB of data is important when you're buying an iPhone, because for normal use you need at least that much to avoid additional charges. As long as you can find the £100 up-front cost, this is a great deal and one of the cheapest over the whole life of the contract.

vodafone

Best iPhone 6 Plus deals on Vodafone

Vodafone prides itself in coverage and quality, it's often a bit mean with data, but there are extras like Spotify and Sky Sports Mobile thrown in.

Deal 1: Free phone, 1000 minutes, unlimited texts, 1GB of data, £44pm

Why Vodafone doesn't just call this "unlimited" calls is a bit of a mystery, but you'd need to be quite a chatterbox to get through 1000 minutes per month. The cost of this over the lifetime of the deal is actually reasonable, and the 1GB of data sufficient for light internet use.

Deal 2: Free phone, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, 10GB of data, £54pm

Loads of data on this tariff and you get a free phone but the monthly costs are high. Still, this is more than enough of everything to keep even a very keen internet user happy for the month.

Deal 3: £159.99 phone, 1000 minutes, unlimited texts, 1GB of data, £29pm

This is the best deal you can get on Vodafone for the 6 Plus, but you need to cough up a decent sum of money for the phone first. This is the most efficient way to get the iPhone 6 Plus on Vodafone though, so it's worth considering.

iphone 6 deals on Three

Best iPhone 6 Plus deals on Three

Three is one of few providers that offers unlimited data, and Feel at Home is amazing for regular travellers.

Deal 1: £9 phone, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, unlimited data, £60pm

As always with Three, there's no free phone - you have to pay the somewhat pointless £9, and then the £60 per month fee means that this is an expensive deal overall, but it is one of very few that can offer totally unlimited data. If you travel, Feel at Home means you'll be able to use as much data as you want in countries like the US at no extra cost.

Deal 2: £49 phone, 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 1GB of data, £44pm

This is the best deal for the iPhone 6 Plus on Three. That means that, while you have to pay for the phone, the actual total contract cost is a bit lower. The only slight issue here is that the data allowance is just 1GB, but for most people that's probably enough.

Deal 3: £99 phone, 600 minutes, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, £48pm

Again, you have to spend £99 on the phone but the cost of the contract overall is reasonable enough for this high-end phone. Unlimited data is great too, and will be great if you're all about being online with your handset.
